MISSION STATEMENT
üTo coordinate and harmonize the
activities and interests of the affiliated local unions.
üTo promote the growth of all
affiliates.
üTo foster, develop, advance and
promote apprenticeship training.
üTo secure the adjudication of
jurisdictional disputes along practical lines.
üTo promote industrial peace and
develop a more harmonious relationship between employers and employees.
üTo aid and assist all affiliates in
securing improved wages and working conditions.
üTo engage in legislative activity
for the promotion and protection of the interests of affiliates and their
members, and to protect and advance the interests of the building and
construction trades industry.
üTo engage in research, legal and
public relations activities for the advancement of the affiliates and their
members.
The objects of this organization shall be to
unite and associate together, as far as possible and practicable, all labor
organizations in the building and construction industry within the territorial
jurisdiction of this organization, to protect the interests of all affiliated
organizations, to work in unison and to promote harmony in the building and
construction industry and to preserve the respective autonomy of all affiliated
organizations.

people. Some start out in a contractor’s office as skilled technicians,
engineers, accountants, administrative assistants or in other positions.
However, advancement in all cases after entering the industry depends on the
efforts of the employee and the needs of the employer.
Construction offers many different types of career paths from semi-skilled and
skilled craft careers covering many types of trades, to jobs in management
covering a wide scope of activities. The opportunities for advancement are
virtually unlimited, regardless of where you choose to start.
